About the project

A Journey 2 Mont Blanc is a documentary following Elisa Deutschmann and Magdalena Mittersteiner, two sports influencers from Germany and South Tyrol, who want to fulfill their dream of cycling from Italy to Mont Blanc in France and paragliding down this majestic mountain.

The film deals not only with the physical challenges that come with such an adventure, but also talks about what it means to the girls to be sports influencers. What are the upsides of this new job field and what problems arise with social media?

Editing this film together with Philipp Kaar was quite the process:  From being overwhelmed by terabytes of footage, to hour long viewing sessions, to slowly recognizing patterns in the material, to filming more interviews and b-roll, to exploring ways to structure the movie, … there were many backs and forths, but we kept on pushing and finally we finished the film. It was rewarding and I definitely learned a lot.

A Journey 2 Mont Blanc is on a film festival tour and will be released online after it.
